Spanish

In the summer of 2010, I began worshipping with a Spanish congregation, whom I love very much.  As a sweet friend pointed out, when not every word of the language is understood, in a new way the worship comes truly from the heart.  The Spirit can be present without us understanding every word humanly spoken.  Yet I strive to improve my Spanish, and I share here my endeavors.

Por favor ven a nuestra fiesta próximo domingo. =  Please come to our party next Sunday.
Las obras del Señor me asombran. =  The works of the Lord amaze me.
Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece (Filipenses 4:13) =  I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
Jesús es el pan de vida (Juan 6:35). =  Jesus is the bread of life (John 6:35).
Quiero aprender una nueva frase en español cada semana. =  I want to learn a new sentence in Spanish each week.
Por favor venga a almorzar con nosotros. =  Please come to lunch with us.
Gracias, Jesús, por tu perdón. =  Thank you, Jesus, for your forgiveness.
Jesús es la luz del mundo. =  Jesus is the light of the world.
Estudio de la Biblia como un grupo puede ayudar a comprender individualmente. =  Study of the Bible as a group can help understanding individually.
El Señor escucha nuestras oraciones, y Él responde. =  The Lord listens to our prayers, and He answers.

La Biblia contiene sabiduría. =  The Bible contains wisdom.

Me encanta tu sonrisa. =  I love your smile.
Por favor ven a estudiar la Biblia en los miércoles a las seis. =  Please come to study the Bible on Wednesdays at 6:00.

Biblias bilingües están disponibles en las bibliotecas. =  Bilingual Bibles are available in libraries.

Cuando oramos por otras personas, Dios nos bendice tambien. =  When we pray for other people, God blesses us also.

Jesu Cristo es el Cordero de Dios. =  Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God.
